The Maple Leafs felt like throwing a hockey stick through the television following last night's 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, preferably at the big HD screen at National Hockey League headquarters in Toronto.
But angry Nik Antropov took the team's anger at a costly overtime penalty and three video replay reversals the hardest, hurling his stick towards referees Mike Leggo and Don Koharski after Rod Brind'Amour netted the game-winner.
Forget about throwing hockey sticks. What about throwing in the towel on the season? What should the Leafs do before the trade deadline? Have your say in our forum.
Pete, in another thread you call Jimmy an "idiot." I have never resorted to that low a level, and yet you have the gonads to tell ME to lighten up? Forgive me for being "cerebral" - I never realized that that was a crime. I don't know what your particular problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

Definitely time for a long term plan. Get some decent scouts, get some draft picks and try to dump some high priced talent. (ok maybe not talent but you know what I mean.)
Starting from day 1 you need 3-5 years to trade, draft and develop a playoff team. The Leafs are actually starting way behind the line with the NTCs and NMCs so it will take a bit longer to get to level ground.
I could just imagine the reaction in Ottawa if Redden was given the length and type of contract Mccabe was given.

Yes, it's time to clean house. Get as many draft picks and prospects as possible.
Nothing will be done in the next while, until closer to the trade deadline though.
That's the way to do it.

Panic trading will not help the Leafs. Wait for a good deal.... don`t forget the Leafs do not have much to offer after Sundin. Gordie W.

Pathetic, and as a Leaf hater stuck in Leaf Nation I'm loving it.
But seriously, everyone thinks the best move for the Leafs is getting rid of Sundin. While I agree he should get a chance to play for a cup-contender, let's face it, Sundin IS the face, heart and soul of the Leafs.
If they get rid of him who will take his place? They currently have nobody and won't get anything that could replace him.

7...Zero
The Leafs should fumigate the ACC after that pathetic loss
Go SENS!

Start the fire sale.... I have been a Leaf fan for 40 years...Supported thru the Ballard years, Brophy era... enough is enough. It is time to flush the "crapper"...

George, lighten up. It's Jimmy, he who knows nothing about hockey. However in this case I would probably agree with him. Besides who made you editor and chief. This is a comment forum and he rightfully made a comment. If you don't care for his or any of the other comments, perhaps you should stick to the New York times or Globe and Mail. You know something a little more cerebral.

The Leafs hopefully will start to win a few more so they finish ninth or tenth, instead of getting a top 3 pick. Go Habs Go
