The Maple Leafs felt like throwing a hockey stick through the television following last night's 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, preferably at the big HD screen at National Hockey League headquarters in Toronto.
But angry Nik Antropov took the team's anger at a costly overtime penalty and three video replay reversals the hardest, hurling his stick towards referees Mike Leggo and Don Koharski after Rod Brind'Amour netted the game-winner.
Forget about throwing hockey sticks. What about throwing in the towel on the season? What should the Leafs do before the trade deadline? Have your say in our forum.
Once again all is well in Leaf Nation ... the Leafs have began their magical run for the Stanley Cup with a win over Carolina. Get back to work on those floats ... there's going to be a parade in June!!!

fold the leafs and give Hamilton a franchise

Anyone who thinks the reason the leafs are losing is because McCabe is not in the lineup needs to get a grip. He is a main reason they lose when he IS in the lineup. He is one of the worst, if not THE worst defenseman in the league. When he was scoring a couple years ago his goals for almost made up for his lack of defensive skills. Now he is just an over paid liability.
The trouble is they wouldn't get much more than a bag of pucks for him in a trade.

It only took Moses 40 years to find the promised land.....the Leafs are into year 41. It's time to face reality and start over again & go through some growing pains. Make the team exciting with great potential for the future (see Penguins & Ottawa) and know their time will come. There's no quick solution to exceptionally poor management except to show them the door. Two consecutive years of gaining high draft picks & trading away established forwards for a future would go a long way for the next decade. It's already been two full generations since the Leafs were even in the finals playing for the "cup". Patience will do it....quick fixes will not.....there's a salary cap to think of.

Jacques Demers on "Off the Record" describes Darcy Tucker as a 'winner". I am sure that Jacques meant to say that tucker is a "winer" or more likely he meant that he's a "wiener" or as we in goober nation know that tucks is a "weanie"
Bottomline, we have heard Tucker called lots of things, but he definitely not a winner.
Too easy.
Blow up the Leafs? why? we love it. Leave thenm in the dumpster for another decade or three.
Entertainment value for the rest of Canada.....priceless

I HATE the Leafs. Most Canadians do. I'm glad the masks of the false are finally coming down and we can all see with certainty that the Leafs organization is in it for the money and truly doesn't care about making their fans happy with a winning team.

Its not only time to blow up the leafs its time to quick commenting on the leafs , us out west counld't care less if the leafs went the way of the dinasour....lets talk about hockey there is more than 1 Canadian team in the NHL, and beleive it or not the leafs are the worst of the lot, they aren't going to make the playoffs they suck right from mgmt down, i think we've beaten that to death how about lets focus on some teams out west....the Canucks have the most valuable player in the NHL, the Oilers have the best run ownership group, and great young guns, the the flames have the best power forward....and just to make things clear the Maple Leafs SUCK ....blow them up!!!!!!!

Pettie stays and looks after the business end and truly stays away from hockey. JFJ is fired and the board of directors hire a reputable firm to find someone to take control of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The head of hockey. There are bad contracts, there are bad players and in the end someone has to clean all of this up. It will not happen overnight. The Toronto Maple Leafs are at maximin salary cap so it's not an issue of money. It has to do with the entire operation. Scouting, player development, long term goals and spending money for somebody to head up the organization and the board of directors stay out of that persons way. Only then will things change. I'm surprised they have not figured out that they would make more money by having a Stanley Cup team than by having a 28th placed team. Good luck to all of us because nothing good comes from the board of directors. In the end they are to blame. Remember, the fish always smells from the head.

I suggest you tell Mats that he has a phone call, and roll a bomb ( only figuratively) into the change room! Hello Cliff, yes lightning can strike twice. Long suffering Leaf Fan.
