Should the Feds fund pond hockey? Tue, October 9, 2007
The federal and New Brunswick governments are giving almost $400,000 to the World Pond Hockey Championships for a permanent home and new promotional materials.
The new funding will result in the construction of a multi-purpose shelter to house equipment and the purchase of another shelter to accommodate event volunteers, participants and spectators.
Well, if we give 1 million dollars here in Ontraio to Cricket then why not ?

I think it's great! If we knew where most of the money goes we'd really have something to complain about.

Don't open that can of worms. Where do you draw the line on what you fund? You can't restrict it to "pond hockey" because that's "our national game" and very soon they'd be lining up for funding of everything from field hockey to touch football.
