I don't have any facts but I do have a pretty good knowledge of physiology, and I'm for hockey over soccer and basketball. The fact is hockey players sprint, some for 20+ minutes a game. Both basketball and soccer players sprint periodically, but for the most part, they coast to gain positioning. B ball and soccer players are amazing athletes but they aren't continually being hit at 40km/h and performing on a slick sheet of hard ice....and "golf"? pleeeez, one name...John Daly..nuff said.

I agree with Matt. I think the hoser's need to calm down just a bit. Everything's skewed too heavily in favor of hockey having the best athletes with this website.
I would suggest soccer because the guys stay on the pitch for two 45 minutes halves. Basketball is second only because guys can get subbed on and off.
In hockey, the shifts are too short to warrant inclusion. Too frequent breaks between shifts, etc.

I didn't realize that an in-depth study of the subject at hand was required before making a post here. Next time I'll do my research in an effort to present my opinion as intelligently as you've presented yours. By the way, where are your facts?

Hockey, not to be biased, but, you take a hit from a 225lbs overly equiped guy at 40 KM/HR. Get up go to the bench for a breather and then go back on like nothing happened. Basketball, i'd rather shave my head with a cheese grater whilr chewing on tin foil than to watch 10 secs. of a sport that has guys that are freaks of nature in size and need it to make a living because there to big and awkward to do anything else in society. I know thats harsh but it's also the spport where there seems to be the most
troublemakers.

Does anyone have any actual facts other than their opinions regarding this topic?? what about mixed martial artists (i.e. ultimate fighters)

Sorry to say you are wrong Matt. Hockey has the best athletes!
Compared to hockey, soccer and basketball are easier to play.

Soccer and basketball.
It shouldn't even be up for discussion. You're wasting everyone's time.
I know a whole bunch of you will say hockey, but you're wrong. Just wrong!

Speaking from experience, golf is the hardest sport to master. In other sports, you can rely on teammates. In golf,it's all you. It's also worthy to notice,a lot of hockey players are good golfers too,as the eye-hand coordination is similar for both sports.

Hockey players are the best athletes. It takes actual skill to skate and above average cardio to play at the physical level required in the greatest sport in the world. Basketball is boring and redundant.

Hockey players are the best athletes without a doubt. Having to have excellent balance on your skates to shoot the puck or get hit while carrying the puck is alot harder than the pros make it look.
