Every record in the book is going to have to have a * beside it.
Why not simply remove the dirty players from the league so the players with real hockey skills don't spend so much time on the IR?
(At least they started calling the rules again, somewhat)

Ya your right Mitch. After last nights game I think the league needs bigger nets and the leafs need a smaller one. Bigger pads didn't help them.

Wayne goals are good and fun to watch ta boot. However what about a good team playing a crappy team? We already have 6-1 games what if it was 15-1 instead? Do the goals really mean anything? Remember the glory days of the Oilers? It gets complacent after a while. I remember games when the fames would leave like 10 minutes early and the Oil were winning. People became more concerned with beating the traffic. Just a little off topic Luongo is a fool for threatening to quit. Betman probably doesn't even know is first name.

yo mitch, that was funny, and so true!!!
crazy d, 2007-09-27 13:18:24
yes wayne, look at the 4 original teams - boston, new york, detroit, and chicago. betman isn't trying to cater to them, either. look at expansion between the two countries - Canada now has 6 teams, the US around 22. So Canada has grown times 3, the states by roughly 6. Hell, even in the last 20 years - Canada has gotten one team, the US 5, not counting Colorado or Carolina who were pulled from Canada. Betman is catering to the wealthy southern states who don't know which end of the hockey stick to shoot with, and is failing miserably. Now that the loonie is roughly on par with the dollar let's see just what locations produce more revenue.

Lots of guys posting here jimmy. But lets look at this. Apperently there is this transperent line making people incredibly different from others. States has 300 million people, half who never see snow. The other half enjoy hockey and always have. Fourth in the states still brings in more than first in canada. They still have a lot more fans than canada and potential for way more. But I'm surethe owners want to give up just for you. I know many canadians who don't care about the nets or even like it. So i guess its not just for americans. Pads have changed. Never heard any beefs about that. So the nets a couple of inches wider. they both shoot at it and the best team wins. So they might get more goals. I like goals. Don't you?
wayne, 2007-09-27 11:51:17
Seriously folks!!!..How many of you think the leafs' goal needs to be bigger?
Mitch, 2007-09-27 10:57:35
wayne who do you think the NHL is making the changes for ? I will give you 1 clue, it isnt CANADA.
They are trying to sell the game to the yanks who could care less about hockey. It isnt even a top 4 sport in the states.
Who cares about how many teams were american when the league started, stay on the topic for a change if you can wayne. as usual you go off topic LOL.

Whats next?? How about shrink the puck size?? Then they would have to change to color to flourecent pink so the yanks could see it. Leave it alone for just one year and see how it is working rather then screwing around with it.
Dwain, 2007-09-26 18:10:39
New uniforms, new rules and now Bigger Nets? Tell the Americans to take "our game" the way it is and not try to change it. Change is not better.
How's this for a sober thought? Bigger nets doesn't increase scoring in soccer!
