If you ask me Bettman may finally have a bright idea here.

After all, alot of players in the NHL are from Europe. They have leagues over there already. They know the game, unlike in the southern USA.

So you have an untapped market that knows the game and supports the game.

I think its an inevability that the NHL will have a division in Europe within 10 years.

And really. Anything is better then Bettmans present idea. Expanding to Kansas City and Las Vegas.

Maybe even send all the franchises south of the Mason-Dixon line over there. Who'd miss them?

This just proves Bettman doesnt know what he is doing. Before the NHL plays games in Europe it needs to fix the problems of attendance in the USA!

Bettman has to go and the sooner the better! We need a Canadian running the NHL not some lawyer that was cast off by the NBA!

No.

Bettman is the worst thing that ever happened to the NHL. We need to get rid of him before he completelt destroys the game.

Why not? The USA market is flat and the NHL has so many other professional sporting leagues to compete with. Europe is a natural choice and long over due! With 1/3 of the players origin from there and a huge fan base very informed and educated already on this sport, it's long over due. It won't surprise me within the next 10 years to have an entire division of European teams playing in the NHL. Logisitics are no different for any eastern based North American team to fly across the continent right now or to fly across the ocean. So one is a body of water and the other is a huge land mass, pretty much the same distance the last time I did the calculations!

Of Course not!

He won't put a team in Hamilton, but he'll go to Europe...tells you what he thinks of Canada..Time for a new head of the league.

I think we should send Bettman to Europe for 10 years to evaluate it. Then to China for 10, then to Iraq for 10 more.

As a Canadian who loves our sport, I feel proud that the whole world is beginning to adopt hockey the way they have soccer. Why not? It'[s a great game! It will always be ours, the way soccer belongs to England, but it is our gift to the whole planet. Maybe one day it will become one of those things that pulls people together; we can't have too many things that do that! Hockey goes global? I like it!

Let's git rid of Bettman before it's too late...he is ruining our game...let him go play in arother sport somewhere & leave our hockey game alone..
Dale Orr, 2007-09-23 16:26:22

No.

I don't like this at all.

There is nothing I can do about it, but it was fun sharing my opinion.
