I think i like "The Edmonton Eaters of Raw meat" better than the Edmonton Eskimos.So really we should blame the Chipewayan"s for this racial insult.What about the Edmonton Chipawayans,would that be OK?

INUIT people exist; the word Eskimo is a racial insult. This is why I brought this up, because so few people in Southern Canada even realize that. It comes from a Chipewayan word meaning "eaters of raw meat" and it is not what the indigenous people of the Arctic call themselves. Years ago, it was socially acceptable to call a number of different ethnic groups by names which are now recognized as insulting; it's time that Canadians and the world learned that this is just another case of public education being needed.
