Is this the end for the WWE ?
Thu, August 30, 2007

World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended 10 of its wrestlers for violations of a policy that tests for steroids and other drugs, the company said Thursday.

Stamford-based WWE says it issued suspension notices based on independent information from the prosecutor’s office in Albany County, N.Y., which has been investigating illegal steroid sales.

Should the WWE have done this earlier? Share your thoughts in our forum.

How serious do you think this really is. I mean the issue of steroid use is a very serious one, but do you really think that the WWE is serious about this. It is a proven fact that as you get older you lose your ability to produce the types of natural hormones that help you naturally bulk up. Vince McMahon is now pushing 70 and in a very short time has become a huge man. Do you really think that this is natural!! Vince went to jail years ago when Hogan outed the then WWF for steroid abuse. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that he is using today. Will this be the end of WWE.... no I don't think so. It has managed to survive this long through many delemmas that it will go for many years yet. But you will see change. I think you will see Shane take over and Vince retire to get out of the public eye but still run the whole business from the wings. I feel real sorry for the athletes that have lost their lives from abusing their bodies with roids but they are all bright men and there is enough information out there about the consequences of usage that they can only blame themselves for any dammage they cause.

I am happy wwe is taking things serious now , as well I can't stand people saying its clean e.g. wrestlers as well wwe mcmahon , as well I want to know are they being tested tna wrestlers , as well I blame wwe as well the wrestlers , as well with soo many wrestlers being tested and failing it could ruin story lines and wrestling for good

Not all wrestlers are on steriods, that is an unfair assumption. However many main eventers are to get the big bodies. Vince McMahon is a bodybuilder and likes his superstars to have the big chests. Look at how fast Bobby Lashley came up. Only two years and he's main eventing a Wrestlemania. Then there are some like Finlay and Matt Hardy. I'm sure many use painkillers and a fairly high amount use steriods, but not all performers.

Pretty sad. For me, wrestling ended with Jimmy hart tell me on the radio that wrestling was fixed and staged in 1988 convinced me to not follow wrestling. To me, that's a joke. Now, since then you've had many cases of drug use and the episodes with Brett hard and lately Chris Benoit. It's just soap opera for me. I'd personally rather watch real sporting events then these shannigans. maybe they should do away with this because it's becoming a bad scene for the kids to enjoy.

Of course they r addicts. For example some who r off the roids r now worried about heart problems. duh!! Did u think nothing would come of this drug abuse. I saw HHH at Summerslam and i think he looks so much better now. It should be natural muscle not this over exagerrated look.Hope wrestling continues but we want real wrestling like the good old days of Eduard Carpentier and Bruno Sannmartino now that was wrestling. Bring it back Vince

listen...most people know that some of the WWE's Roster do indeed take steroids and other drugs...but this has been going on in all areas of sports since the beginning, people just give all this extra attention to the negative aspect of the professional wrestling world because they dont understand the business enough to see past it...people dont realize how hard the business is...and when people describe it as fake its just ridiculous...i think people should try and focus on the good the sport has to offer, rather than the horrible backstage pollitics and the drug abuse

What's with wrestling these days it's turned into a soapoprah i think they should shut it down!!!
Andrew Wheeler, 2007-08-31 09:27:12

i think we should get rid of this sport now

Wrestler's saying that they are not on steroids is like them saying that Wrestling is real.
B Vyse, 2007-08-31 08:05:10

We all know most of them are on steroids. They don't get those kind of bodies over night. They are in pain all of the time.Look at Vince for instance,it looks like he's on more than drugs. They should have done this way before it got started.
