What do you think about Belfour going to Sweden?
Sun, August 19, 2007

(CP) - Having failed to land a job with an NHL team, veteran goaltender Ed Belfour is reportedly ready to continue his career overseas.

According to a report in Swedish sports publication Expressen, Belfour is "very close" to signing a contract with second-division Leksand of the Swedish League.

What do you think about 'Eddie the Eagle's' possible flight up north?

A division 2 team ? That says its time to call it a career Eddie. The writing was on the wall, but he didnt read it, now he is prolonging a career that should have ended after he realized no NHL team wanted him even though there are a few looking for a goalie ie LA KINGS need someone bad.

Nah nah nah nah hey hey goodbye!

He who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Good riddance! Funny he didn't get drunk and offer a GM a billion dollars to put him on the roster!

After watching the jays play Oakland would it be possible to trade the whole jays team (including management for the Oakland Athletics. HALLELUJAH .

Eddie is just another pro athlete that doesnt know when to pack it in.

He will be playing in the swedish second division. He might as well play in the AHL then.

Eddie its over, hang them up before you disgrace yourself by being a back up in a second division league.

Maybe some of the guys over there can learn some tricks or secrets that he has picked up over the years. For all you guys saying that its pitiful. . . Do you really think he cares what you think?

Ever see the Babe Ruth Story.

Classic story of a man who hung on too long. Second most famous athlete ever, behind Ali, who also was criticized for hanging on. People and history forget pretty quickly. You like to see your heroes look like heroes all the time. truth is they are human and had lots of bad momments too. You quickly forget those and as time goes on the fade away even more.

God its been 60 years and people are already starting to point out some of the good things hitler did. Thats pretty scary how quickly people can start to forget the negatives.

Ted when your competitive and love a sport you want to play the best you can. Thats what eddy wants. It msy be painful for you to watch, he doesn't care. He gets to play because he can. they don't play him for charity. I played Semi pro baseball for 2 years. I would still play if they would take me. I would play till I die if I could. I know play in a senior elite league. would play in the elite league if they would take me.

Jimmy always nice to hear from you. Do you have any freinds or do you just go online to make fun of people.

Elite Athletes don't think any different than you are I. They just play better Jimmy. Why don't you just follow me around and insult me with your brilliant insight.

wayne you cant compare old timers leagues that you play to pro sports.

But I guess you consider yourself an elite level athlete LOL.
