What do you think of the deal sending Garnett to the Celtics? Mon, July 30, 2007
Kevin Garnett is leaving Minnesota after the Boston Celtics agreed to acquire the all-star forward in a multi-player trade with the Timberwolves, a Celtics official told The Associated Press on Monday.
People who think that Boston is now the favorite to win the East need a reality check. The Celtics have one of the best 3-man combos in the game, but they have no role players to back them up. And with 3-guys taking up $55m of salary, leaving $13m to pay for the rest of the team (before they go over the luxury-tax line), that isn't changing anytime soon. The last time I checked, teams didn't play with 3-guys per game.

Bad move for Celtics. The team just mortgaged it's future on the idea that three 30-something all-stars, and not much else, can challenge for a title. Didn't we see that play out this year in Denver with AI and Carmello? Teams that win have chemistry, a defined style of play and role players. The Celtics have three all-star caliber players, and that's it.

Well the Celtics better win in the next couple of years because all of their stars are at their peak and will be beginning their downslide

They will be as good or better than any team in the conference. Until it's substitution time, that will kill them. Injuries likely will play a part here too. Raps still the better team, much better depth and that will be huge in their drive this year!
