Have your say about Bill Walsh. Mon, July 30, 2007
Bill Walsh, the groundbreaking football coach who won three Super Bowls and perfected the ingenious schemes that became known as the West Coast offence during a Hall of Fame career with the San Francisco 49ers, has died. He was 75.
His coaching records speak for themselves. 3 superbowls in the 80's, and 1 in the 90's, he built a dynasty and of course the west coast offence which is still used today. Another notch in his belt is the fact that 28 of his assistants went on to become head coaches. That is quite a feat, 1 that will be hard pressed to even come close to being matched. Mr.Walsh is a legend.
