How will the Devils do under Brent Sutter? Thu, July 12, 2007
Quoting unnamed sources, TSN is reporting Sutter will step down from his junior club Thursday to pursue a coaching career in the NHL. The sources indicate he’s the odds-on favourite to become the next coach of the New Jersey Devils.
I dont think there is any doubt that Sutter will be successful where ever he coaches. But with the Devils losing Gomez and Rafiski they will hard pressed to produce on offence I believe. I guess they will rely on Marty to keep them in 1 - 0 and 2 - 1 games and hope they can catch a break to win.
Good luck Brent with working for Lou, he will be looking over your shoulder every second of the season and probably questioning your moves in private.
I think Sutter could have waited for a better situation than New Jeresy, but I guess time will tell.

He has to be nuts to go to that team . GM Lou Lamoriello is a power freak and just loves coaching playoff games as much as firing good coaches . It has to be the money !

We have a saying here in Calgary that New Jersey and the Devils will soon learn as well.
Trust in Sutter

Congrats to Brent if this rumor holds true. I watched and cheared for his teams in Red Deer for years. Its time the rest of North America sees how good of a coach he really is.
