How do you feel about Bonds hitting No. 756?
Wed, August 8, 2007

Barry Bonds hit No. 756 over the right-centre field wall Tuesday night, and hammered home the point: Like him or not, legitimate or not, he is baseball's new home run king.

How do you feel about Bonds breaking Hank Aaron's record?

Oh-h-h-h the '*' - performance enhancement is not new and there's no proof our heroes of days gone by didn't dabble in it as well. The real problem is that in this era, nothing can happen behind closed doors and the matter of the past decade has been very public.

The true fans of baseball appreciate every aspect of the game. However, the 'video game' generation demands instant gratification and the home run has become king of the highlight reel. There's no wonder more and more athletes feel the pressure to be more than their given gifts permit. Combine that with what seems to be an endless flow of cash, and there's bound to be a few that cannot resist. At least the MLB is performing more tests and punishing those that fail.

With all of the focus on sluggers these past years, does anyone think an asterix should be hung beside the Rocket's name?

Thank god, those two fools stopped long enough, so someone else could get a word in.

Who cares, as the professional baseball record is held by Japan's Mr. Oh.

Bonds still has a long way to go!

Stop the insanity. Bonds allegedly used performance enhancing drugs that weren't illegal at the time he was using them. If people really cared about the drugs then nobody would go to NFL games at all, because they're all juiced there. But people do go.

I think this has more to do with Bonds personality than reality. There were people who hated Ruth and we all know the pressures that Aaron faced when he broke the record. I say good for Bonds for forging ahead in the face of adversity.

The comment about Congress stepping in takes the cake. To suggest they have nothing better to do than to police a GAME is ridiculous. Heck, why not bring the troops home from Iraq now and have them shoot down any balls that the evil-doer Bonds hits. Search for WMD in his locker while you're at it.

barry bonds has a god given ability to play baseball.i am happy for him.what i dont agree with is the fact that he used a banned substance to extend his career so that he could break this record.a tainted achievment would be a gross understatement.

Look at his record. Steals, hits, walks, HR's and gold gloves. No accusation ever proven. One of the best ever

Alot of hoopla over a homerun that in the end didn't help his team win. It's a team game, and last time I checked there is no I in the word team.

Sad, sad day for baseball. I pray that the baseball writers have the guts not to vote him into the hall.

On another note if I had got that ball, it would be cut up in little pieces and burned by now!!

I'll congraulate Bonds for being the current record holder. He is one of the best baseball players ever. Bonds may not love the game but he can play it.

As much as you people hate Barry Bonds, and with good reason, I have a fishy feeling that he wont be holding that record for more than a decade.

My reasoning is that A-Rod will probably break that record within the next ten years based upon his current home run numbers.

A slap in the face to the real home run king.Hank Aaron has more class and is ten times the man bonds is.A sad day for baseball.
