Barry Bonds hit No. 756 over the right-centre field wall Tuesday night, and hammered home the point: Like him or not, legitimate or not, he is baseball's new home run king.
How do you feel about Bonds breaking Hank Aaron's record?
Bonds breaks Hank Aaron's record
The true fans of baseball appreciate every aspect of the game. However, the 'video game' generation demands instant gratification and the home run has become king of the highlight reel. There's no wonder more and more athletes feel the pressure to be more than their given gifts permit. Combine that with what seems to be an endless flow of cash, and there's bound to be a few that cannot resist. At least the MLB is performing more tests and punishing those that fail.
With all of the focus on sluggers these past years, does anyone think an asterix should be hung beside the Rocket's name?

Who cares, as the professional baseball record is held by Japan's Mr. Oh.
Bonds still has a long way to go!

I think this has more to do with Bonds personality than reality. There were people who hated Ruth and we all know the pressures that Aaron faced when he broke the record. I say good for Bonds for forging ahead in the face of adversity.
The comment about Congress stepping in takes the cake. To suggest they have nothing better to do than to police a GAME is ridiculous. Heck, why not bring the troops home from Iraq now and have them shoot down any balls that the evil-doer Bonds hits. Search for WMD in his locker while you're at it.

On another note if I had got that ball, it would be cut up in little pieces and burned by now!!

My reasoning is that A-Rod will probably break that record within the next ten years based upon his current home run numbers.
