Have your say about Chris Benoit
Thu, September 13, 2007

Canadian Pro wrestler Chris Benoit suffered brain damage from his years in the ring that could help explain why he killed his wife, son and himself, a doctor who studied Benoit’s brain said Wednesday.

Steroid use also has lingered as a theory, since anabolic steroids were found in the home and tests conducted by authorities showed Benoit had roughly 10 times the normal level of testosterone in his system when he died.

Let me say something, Chris Benoit have never taken any steroids in his entire life because he have always goes to the gym and workout. Secondly, I am sorry to say that he did suffer with brain damage due to the circumstances that it was just terrible. As far as the assets go, there is no way that Nancy's family are not getting the money from Chris because he deserved to win this case and that the children are going to get their fair share. When you are a parent, you have to realize that when the going gets rough, the tough gets going, you have to think twice on what you are doing to your child/ren and family.

First of all I want both sides of the family know that you are all in my prayers, mostly his babies that are still left behind to deal with it all,and also his mother and father along with Nancy's family.I pray that both sides will be able to sit down and come to a 50/50 deal on the money; etc. because I believe Benoit was a Damn Good Wrestler no matter what. and along with the problem with his career and his home life got to be too much for him to handle and McMahon didn't help matters either. R.I P. and now you finally get to be with Eddie.

I am a long time fan of wrestling and of Benoit. It is a shame that his life and those of his family ended the way it did. It is a clear example of how the WWE and the McMahon family have failed to look after their employees. How many wrestlers, current and former, have died in the last five years? And how many have suffered with drug and alcohol problems? How many have serious medical issues as a result of what they do in the ring? It will only get worse as wrestlers try to top each other and keep the fans entertained.

Put people on a pedistal where they feel they are above the rules and this type of stuff happens. I feel sorry for his wife and child, who suffered because of his "illness". steroid use has ruined many lives, his family suffered because of it.

I've been combing through a few of these canoe topics and keep seeing "Jimmy" everywhere.

Buddy, you need to get out of your parents basement. FAST!

To Marcus

You dont understand why a " legend " has been tarnished ? Maybe you were on vacation when the news broke that Benoit murdered his wife and son.

Wow I cant believe it, someone that used steroids had 10 times the amount of testosterone in his system, I am shocked!

Some legend he is Marcus, he is a killer nothing more.

I just dont understand why.A legend has been tarnished.

I said it about two months ago that he most likly had some type of brain injury and that he was not him self. I hope this info can help people become more informed about brain injury

What, another theory that may not be linked to steroids??? That just can't be right!!!! It has to be steroids, what would fully qualified medical doctors for a non-profit organization know, and then make their findings public?

I understand Joe's point about Benoit's career failing, I mean he stated he wanted to help new guys learn their craft and he just signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract and was one of the most respected men in the business so clearly he had nothing to live for. And of course no doctor would prescribe that amount of steroids, especially not the private practitioner who was charged with doing so.

The death order does matter, because no matter how short the time frame between deaths their are still the lone survivor in the immediate family. What is sad is that Nancy's family is fighting for the money that should go to Benoit's other children. I can see their justification because they are hurt at the loss of their daughter, but this is just greed coming out now. Of course none of us know, they may set it up so his kids do get a piece, who's to say, but don't drag it out in court or in public, the whole family has been through enough.

And lastly, stop picking on poor Ted Richards, he's a good man and the closest thing to a saint on this planet, and he'll be the first to tell you.
