Really a crapshoot. The Flames at times last year looked like they needed a strong bench boss, depending on which Keenan shows up they will either get a version of classic Keenan (Flyers, Hawks, or Rangers) or Napoleonic Keenan (Canucks, Bruins, Panthers, Blues). It will be interesting in Cowtown nonetheless.

This is one train wreck waiting to happen. He'll chew up and spit out the Swedes Nilson and Huselius. He already sent Huselius packing once in Florida, so it's just a matter of time before he's out of there. I'm also guessing he'll rubb Amonte the wrong way and at least a few more guys handing in trade requests by the end of the year. Bad move Flames, you've just pushed the self destruct button on this team.

"you are moved. Good luck" (hangs up).... Phonecall to Kristian Huselius 18 months ago from Mike Keenan. Good luck Kristian from us in Sweden. You need it!

Very poor and RISKY move by Sutter...Keenan has proven to be the largest coaching Jerk in the NHL...Team will start strong but by Christmas, most players will be sick of him and not respond, at all. Pay him per game cause he won't last till march....

The end of a good run for this team. Has proven time and time again he is simply unable to behave like an adult and coach a group of grown me. Inevitable failure

Good news if you're an Oiler fan, bad news if you are a Flames player.
I was in Vancouver when Keenan was behind the bench and Messier was on it. Totally sucked, with Messier being the locker room rat for Keenan, and no team unity on the ice.
Bad move, Sutter, and for Flames fans, you thought the lockout was depressing. This will show the downside of professional sports, when highly paid athletes have to play for a coach who sucks.
Or maybe Keenan has changed? Somehow unlikely, or not enough.

Anybody want a Flames jersey? I won't have any use for it this year...

Mike Keenan becomes head coach for an EIGHTH time. Wonder what the previous seven teams think of this move? Bad choice by the Flames.

Great move. this team has frustrated me for years...great talent but no drive to finish the job (i.e. stanley cup finals when they had the cup in their hands and just gave it to T.B.

Ask me again at the end of next season. It could go either way.
