Will Weir ever win another major? Thu, June 14, 2007
In 2003 Mike Weir became the first Canadian to win a major, when he won the Masters. That year he ranked 11th in putting. He is currently tied for 74th in number of putts per green in regulation. Consequently he has not come close to winning a major since.
This begs the question: Was Mike Weir just lucky to win the Masters? And because of that win, is he now overrated as a golfer? Will he ever win another major?
Highly unlikely as he is under so tight a reign of his wife that he can't dedicate the time and devotion to make himself a winner.

What does anyone here know (including myself).
I suppose it's possible that he could win another major, but IMO he was lucky to win the Masters in the first place.
There are a lot of good golfers besides the king, Woods and any one of them has just as good a chance if Woods is not in the hunt that week.

Very doubtful that he'll win a major. Ever since Vijay tried his damnest to give him that Canadian Open (only to see him hit the water on the third playoff hole) he has tanked his game. I do wish him the best but I don't see it.

he's always up there in the majors...he may not win another major, but he'll win another tournament.....if anything, he'll win a PGA......I think his ranking is lower than his performance has been, be should be at least top 20

never mind a major how about another pga tour event. this is the longest stretch since joining the tour without winning a tournament. he can't put it all together at the same time. who is the next great canadian?

Mike will win another major or 2, plus the Canadian Open. He's just had a couple of years dealing with an injury & a swing change. Things like that take time. Just look at Els. Keep the faith

He's the Canadian Cory Pavin. He'll get close again I'm sure but wont quite close the deal.

Mike Weir's time has come and gone.

All the best Mikey but too much time worrying about your "brand" has taking away from your competitiveness in my opinion. While I have nothing against exploiting your name for monetary reasons while you can, I think when you are old and gray, it is the titles you remember, not the wad of cash your are sitting on.
