I understand and appreciate Roger Goodall's stance on the matter. If you have an employee lie to you, regarding their involvement in a criminal matter, would you trust that employee? Mr. Goodall was lied to by Michael Vick. If Michael Vick was able to cover up his participation in this matter, and continued on in his career, but further on in his career, he was then caught and implicated for these crimes, the repurcussions for the NFL could have been much more serious. Roger Goodall needs to have the NFL's best interest in mind and not Michael Vick's. As Vick lied directly to the NFL and the Falcons management, they have all right to send him packing. Serious trust issues are broken and it could take years of "sincere" reform to correct the matter. Lip service will not cut it. Vick should have the chance to reform but the NFL does not have to hire him back even if he was the best quarterback the NFL has ever seen.

This should go for all NFL players involved in criminal matters who have been directly found guilty for any crimes just as severe or more severe. This is coming from a guy who liked Michael Vick as a QB prior to this mess.

To aj and Candace.

What world do you live in that accepts murderers and pedophiles??? I sure as hell don't accept them. Why do we have to compare crimes when dealing with Vick; it is a lame cop out. His felony is the enterprising of dog fighting, his moral crime is the execution of dogs, numbering in the 60s. Stop using your flawed logic and rationalize the fact that there is no rehab for an individual who has expressed no remorse and doesn't feel what he's done is even remotely wrong. Wake up and give your collective heads a shake, working in the entertainment field is dependant on image and Vick has lost it; he's not owed anything, he had a chance and blew it. He can come back to the NFL but it's up to him to address what he's done and the public to treat him accordingly.

Vick is sick! He needs professional help. He deserves 5 - 10 years in prison plus a life time ban from the NFL. Who cares if he is a good QB, he isnt above the law and must pay for his actions.

I think he should be suspended for a year and spend a year in jail for his crime.

I heard one person say, "get over it hes an amazing athlete and quarterback." Guess that makes it all ok then eh? I'm no animal nut but Vick showed through his actions that he felt due to his elite athlete status that he was above the law. Well guess what..great scrambling ability and an awesome throwing arm aren't defences in a court of law last time I checked. He may very well wind up with a slap on the wrist due to his plea bargain, but his NFL career is toast. An indefinite suspension by Goodell(without pay), freedom to the Falcons to try and recuperate his signing bonus and Nike has terminated his endorsement deal, all because he put put faith in his old days homies. Gee, dogfighting street thugs rolling over to save their own necks, how surprising!lol. His actions showed no respect to the amazing athletic abilities he was blessed with, the incredible opportunities life presented to him and the innocent animals he maimed and killed. He deserves every thing he gets. Id rather watch a QB who can actually lead a team and win the big one anyways, like Manning or Brady. Bye bye Vick, see you on the Argos soon I'm sure.

vick is guilty, he'll pay for his crimes. he admits it, and he'll go to jail. however, he shouldnt receive a lifetime ban from the nfl. what good is a civilized society if the people only want to judge and not heal? what is the purpose of jail?. let him heal and come back. why don't we feel hate for pedophiles, rapists, or murderers? vick is sorry and will pay dearly. i cant wait to see him again in the nfl.

Anybody who supports M Vick, is just as sick as he is. It's nauseating the way so many are rushing to defend this cold hearted monster, simply because he can throw a football! Some hero! It's time society stopped idolizing these steroid pumped creeps.

If Vick was teacher, should he be never allowed to teach again. If he were a doctor should he not be allowed to help people. If he were a CEO of company should he be made to step down. Give me a break people. Fine him, give him appropriate jail time but to end his career would be wrong. This is his job. How he earns a living. I wish people felt this strong about pedophiles and domestic abusers. Let's get our priorities straight. No wonder this world is so messed up!!!!

Michael Vick has created his own personnal hell. He is now the victim. He will suffer emotionally and finacially. The dogs will now have their revenge. How's it feel Mike? You will have to fight this the rest of your life. I do not feel sorry for him. Let him suffer the way he made all those poor animals suffer. He has a heart of stone with no compassion. He is one cruel dude.
