Why do we tolerate such disgusting behavior of our sport "heros"? What kind of message does this send to young fans-it is okay to abuse animals because they are JUST animals? Maybe Vick should be the one put in a dog house/shelter, given poor food and forced to accept punishment (not the dogs that he has caused to be hurt or killed).

VICK IS ONE SICK INDIVIDUAL! THE NFL BETTER NOT LET THIS ONE GO UNPUNISHED.SET AN EXAMPLE,,HOW MANY YOUNG LIVES DOES A NFL STAR AFFECT. THIS IS TOTALY WRONG.

Not that I am condoning what allegedly happened, but I find it quite amazing that a lot of you are presuming Mr. Vick to be guilty just because he is a big name. Does the phrase "innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law" mean anything to you? INDICTMENT DOES NOT EQUAL CONVICTION.

Yes, these are serious charges against Mr. Vick, but do you think this matter should be settled in a court of law before condemning the person?

If he is found guilty, then he should face the punishment.

Should be suspended by the NFL? Based on the suspensions handed to a couple of other players that had only been charged, then he should be suspended.

I am hopeful that the owner of the Atlanta Falcons regains consciousness, and fires Vick. This behavior is dispicable, inexcusable cruel treatment that needs to be punished in a memorable, substantial way. The public, the game of football, and the protected world of the ultrarich need to see a real honest response to these behaviors. Vick should be made to pay with humility, the forced attacks, and the abuse of God's creation.

Thank you Ted. I also saw the ex-player you are referring to talk about the dog fighting in rural communties as well. That was shocking to hear. Vick should be banned for life from ever playing in the NFL and also serve 5 - 10 years in prison with no chance of parole. Maybe a big fine as well with half of it going to the S.P.C.A.

One really great point, Jimmy. This guy is a college graduate. He knows better. I was watching the NFL network the other day and some ex-player (can't remember who it was) was saying that dog fighting is a common sub-culture activity among some of the rural players in the league. What a crock. I'm from a rural area, and I am not aware of any sub-cultures that I'd be involved in that are immoral, illegal, or disgusting. That's a cop-out. He knew better, he's just a fool.

This dog fighting business is not important at all. Let Vick keep on playing for Atlanta or where ever.

People love animals more than other human beings. There's so much outrage about dog fighting and none about people being slaughtered in Iraq, Afganistan, Palistine, Africa,...

You animal lovers are warped!!!!!!!

I think it is very disturbing to hear about Vicks involvement. He can say he didnt know what was going on till he is blue in the face, there are witnesses that have said he was there several times. The Falcons should release him now, before any more information comes out and makes Vick and the Falcons look even worse than they do right now if thats even possible. Send Vick to prison for at least 5 - 10 years with no chance of parole. He is a college graduate so I think he should know the consequences of his involvement. This isnt about Bubba and other rednecks living out in the sticks doing this. Its a professional athlete that is a role model for kids whether he likes it or not. I believe i saw CNN show a small clip of the dog fighting and its sickening. Vick you did the time now your going to do the time. Enjoy your stay at the grey bar hotel you sicko.

This man is a criminal and the S.O.B. should be convicted and serve jail time for this crime.

The Atlanta Falcons are a bunch of IDIOTS for allowing this monster to continue to play football. They obviously don't care about morals and decency, just money!! Hasn't this THUG thing been done to death? Can't punks like Michael Vick get some new material?
