Was Niedermayer truly deserving of the MVP? Wed, June 6, 2007
More hardware is headed for Scott Niedermayer's bulging trophy case.
The star Anaheim Ducks defenceman was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as NHL playoff MVP on Wednesday night, a first-time honour that accompanied his fourth Stanley Cup championship. He collected an assist in the 6-2 victory that clinched Anaheim's first Cup win.
I would have to agree with either Pronger or Neidermayer at this point....Emery has had just the last two outstanding performances...not good enough....and I can't see Ottawa's top line showing up for this playoff round!!!!

i have to agree with dave ray emery has been awesome and until spezza and heatley the two big guttless chickens that are afraid to hit the sens are done.these two guys could go into the corner with a dozen eggs in there equipment and come out with none broke.. fisher and neill cant do it all for a full game they are getting worn out...

Pronger takes Edmonton to the 7th game of the Cup final last year...this year, the team he is on, looks ready to take the Cup. Is there a connection? I think so.

If Ottawa continues down the road to complete meltdown through intimidation then it is fair to say no one on the Senators, especially their captain, should win. I would give it to Scott Neidermayer. His skill and leadership have put the Ducks over the top from four years ago!

At this point I'm tempted to say Ray Emery, whether the Sens win or lose. He has truly arrived. And before I say this I want to point out that I'm a Sens' fanatic, but Alfredsson HAS TO GO. They will never win with him wearing the C. As good as he's been up till the finals, he's gone back to being the scared Euro he usually has been in pressure situations. Sorry Alfie, but you just can't handle the pressure. Trade him for Iginla!
