Was Niedermayer truly deserving of the MVP?
Wed, June 6, 2007

More hardware is headed for Scott Niedermayer's bulging trophy case.

The star Anaheim Ducks defenceman was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as NHL playoff MVP on Wednesday night, a first-time honour that accompanied his fourth Stanley Cup championship. He collected an assist in the 6-2 victory that clinched Anaheim's first Cup win.

No clear-cut choice for MVP

Would have to our Captain, Alfie, he has played awesome all year, and in the playoffs.

Arnold Schwarzenegger lifts the Stanley Cup , what the crap, those ducks should of stoped that!!
Joy, 2007-06-10 14:59:45

Of course he was !!!

Anyone that thinks the likes of Alfredsson winning MVP is nuts ,this guy is a loser thru and thru. The only thing he has shown is bad sportsmanship and a non exsistent "winning is everything" attitude. Coming in second in anything in life is nothing to be proud of; it means you LOST, and with that kind of attitude in life you get nowhere...just like the sens

Alfie should win hands down! Not for what he did for Ottawa, but what he did for the Ducks. Down in the series just 2-1, game 4 tied 2-2, home rink, and he makes one of the greatest momentum shifts in sports history. Anaheim didn't make a single mistake for the next 4 periods and won going away. Alfie for president!! (of Sweden.)

Alfie should have been MVP. However, that stupid shot in Game 4 ended his chances. Also, pretty hard to have an MVP coming from the team that lost the finals 4-1. So yeah, Scott Niedermayer is a good choice.

I'm a Sens fan and would agree with the choice of Niedermayer. You don't give it to someone one the losing side of a 4-1 series. Sorry Alfie.

Alfie has shown that there is such a thing as a great European captain in the NHL but he came in second place so....

The goalies don't deserve it, Emery played great but didn't steal any and JS had a wall in front of him so he didn't have to play great.

Chris Pronger. The Ducks won two huge games when he wasn't on the ice. I keed I keed! They did though.

The entire Pahlsson/Neidermeyer/Moen line should get it. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Nasland, Sedin Twins, Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatly, Marleau, Thornton, Cheechoo. All rendered ineffective by this line.

Stanley Cup Champions 2008: Edmonton Oilers. You'll see.

Alfredsson for MVP? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, ho ho ho ho he he he . I just busted my spleen laughing so hard. Senators will never win while Krusty is Captain. Alas, the captain does go down with his ship.

Sammy Pahlsson! He's a big reason why the other's teams top lines never produced against the Ducks.

Rob Niedermayer - Unsung and consistent!
