Were the referees missing calls? Tue, May 29, 2007
Bryan Murray was seeing red yesterday.
The Senators coach doesn’t
want to instruct his players to do anything stupid, but Murray indicated if
the Anaheim Ducks are going to be able get away with hooking, holding and
obstruction, he’s going to tell Ottawa players to do the same.
Were the Ducks getting away with calls in Game 1? Have your say in our forum.
Quit the whinning Mr. Murray!

I was wondering what was going to happen when the east Met the West. The west is a slower gmae for a reason. Grind it out hockey we were all sick of watching is still predominant in the west. The games wuld be absolute blow outs withthe obstruction called. Look at the speed that Montreal, Buffalo, Ottawa and New Jersey bring out east.
Obstruction was not called in gmae one....anyone that thinks it was is simply a bitter leaf fan....we know there are enough of those to go around right now.... lets hope the Sens get their feet moving for game two...the obstruction will be so obvious not calling it will blatently obvious. Let the better team win....don't leave them in the neutral zone.

the referees are clearly on drugs and should check out their local DARE programme. Start calling the clutching, grabbing. Not to mention Anaheim's constant cross checking in front of the net.

i said in my previous comment the refs suck.. two refs and it takes a 4th crosscheck by getzlaf before its called and one ref three feet away and he didnt make the call.. brutal.. i would like to ask bettman why have a crease for cause they never use it the goalies are so vunerable.. you step in the crease it should be a penalty and if a goal is scored it should be waved off and also a penalty.the crease means nothing anymore..all the goalies should get together and refuse to play until the crease is recognized.. wake up bettman.......

Would everyone like some cheese with their Whining!!!
Yes the Ref's are missing calls...oh surprise...the entire playoffs have been a joke when it comes to penalty calling or NOT....as the commercial goes...yes I missed that one, but will make up for it later for no good reason!!!!Who will make the referees accountable for the lousy job they are doing - Mr. Bettman?!?!?!?!

The referees have a long history of choosing the winners in the NHL. I am from Edmonton and loved the Oilers during the Gretzky era, but I know that there were a couple of series against Winnipeg when the referees stepped in and saved the series for Edmonton. Probably contributing to Winnipeg Jets demise. Last year the Oilers roll was reversed with the referees and were targetted to lose. Same thing with Vancouver this year. However do not look to our sportscasters, particularly our TV people, for real truthfull comments. There is no entity in N.American more cowardly than the Canadian TV Sports Press.

STOP crying already!! Murray has the nerve to call Crosby a whiner.. Pa-lease, both of the Sens goals were scored on phatom calls. Neidermeyer sticks the glass and gets a penalty, and Fisher holds on to a stick and gets a hooking call. I know this is just a weak tactic by Murray. But here's to hoping it blows up in his face. No one cares about the Sens outside of Ottawa, just live with it would ya. Besides most Canadians would probably even go as far as saying Ottawa is not a part of Canada, it's just the toilet bowl in the middle where all the crap collects.

Murray is a master at deception, he is an expert at trying to influence the refs. Meanwhile the sens run interference on almost every breakout play from their own end. They sure like to whine. SWEEP!!!!
JIMMY, 2007-05-30 12:20:02
The refs missed calls on both sides. comment to Jimmy - the refs in the Buffalo series obviously interested in getting a Canadian team into the finals. How else did they miss the Alfredsson cross check to Tallinder in OT. That was at least 5, if not a game. the Sens need to make their own breaks. The refs have heard the Murray whine for 3 rounds now, and have tuned him out.

I'm not sure what game Leonard was watching, but after the Ducks were called for three penalties in a row. The refs let at least five clearly visible penalties by the Ducks go. While waiting to call a penalty on the Sens. I guess they are told not to appear to be favouring one team, but a penalty is a penalty. I hope the refs call them all tonight. The Ducks just cannot skate with the Sens.
