Were the referees missing calls?
Tue, May 29, 2007

Bryan Murray was seeing red yesterday.

The Senators coach doesn’t want to instruct his players to do anything stupid, but Murray indicated if the Anaheim Ducks are going to be able get away with hooking, holding and obstruction, he’s going to tell Ottawa players to do the same.

Were the Ducks getting away with calls in Game 1? Have your say in our forum.

'Fowl' play worries Murray

Refs should be wearing Ottawa Jerseys...looks like there's something in it for them...paid off maybe??????

NHL refs are worse than Junior A refs. Phantom calls, blatant dives fallen for, and flying elbows and sticks ignored...a total disgrace. No wonder hockey has no more audience...not even a real sport anymore, more like a circus sideshow....Murray cries enough tears to fill an 8 foot pool anyways..waah, waah, waah..at least Carlyle takes it like a man

Missed calls?? Absolutely!! Diving on Emery & Neil, punch by Alfredsson to name a few. Bryan Murray should be embarrassed. It was a crime the Sens had a 1-0 lead after one. All of Ottawaaaaaaaaaah has finally figured out they can't play with the Ducks 5 on 5.

It's pretty sad when referees decide who wins the Stanley Cup. There were way too many missed calls in games 1 and 2. Mostly interference on the part of the Ducks but also too many men on the ice for the Senators in game 1. It reminds me of pre-strike hockey. How can teams be called so for obstructing in the regular season and not expect the same in the playoffs? This is a very disappointing ending to a terrific season.

I don't see the issue here. For the entire playoffs I thought Ottawa was competing for an Oscar and not The Cup. For the first time last night they played standup hockey to be proud of; and they were beaten fair and square. I would be ashamed to be a hockey fan if they continued their acting throughout the final. It lowers the honour of the sport.

After two games of the finals it would appear that the Sens have no offence so any amount of power plays they have (not got) would be a mute point. Last night they were pathetic. If they want to be team Canada they should watch some of the tapes of the REAL CANADIAN TEAM. But of course team Canada has a coaching staff too who don't whine about adversity they deal with it. Maybe they should have waited till after they had won to have those celebrations in Ottawa.

Murray has whined all through the playoffs. The plain truth is they are playing a better team and can't deal with them. There is a light on the horizon though-it could be over in four games!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a ridiculous question! Obviously those complaining about what the Ducks are getting away with had Senators Vision during the Ottawa-Pittsburgh series when the Sens were mugging/obstructing/crosschecking the Pens, especially Crosby, constantly and getting away with it. When the Pen, Leafs or Sabres complain, they're whining, but when the Sens complain, it's legit? This two-faced homerism is embarrassing, and one of many reasons why I don't cheer for the Sens, ever. Look in the mirror, Sens, everything you complain about you've done before, and you have Chris Neil, enough said.

I have never seen so much clutch and grab. As Healy said old time hockey.. Brutal. All year call penalties and now stop. Skilled teams will never win
john, 2007-05-30 23:01:31

the ducks would not be this far if the refs called it as they were instructed to start the year

All this talk of bitter leafs fans LOL... the sens are in the finals and all their fans can still talk of is the leafs and how they are getting shafted... Hilarious... Take a look in the mirror sens fans, who's bitter? ... The choke is on baby!!!
