Are the Sens a dirty team?
Mon, May 14, 2007

Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said this week that Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson should have been suspended for a hit from behind on defenceman Henrik Tallinder in overtime of Game 2 of the NHL Eastern Conference final.

Alfredsson said he hadn't seen the replay but felt that "it didn't feel like a hit from behind."

Alfie's hit has Sabres steamed

No, the team isn't but some of them are. Chris "The turtle" Neil for example.

Just take a look at the picture in the photo galery...

Alfredsson's shot at the Duck's captain @ the end of the 2nd period, was one of the worst unsportsmanlike moves of the year. Just like that soccer player who head-butted the guy, and helped his team lose, Alfredsson gave the Ducks the momentum going into the 3rd period.

He should be kicked out of the NHL and the continent.

Bye bye Sens, the cup is for real Champions

The Sens have a great team and I don't see them as a dirty team. The exception to that is Daniel Alfredsson he has done his fair share of cheap shot's throughout his career. Too bad he's the captain as this would send a message to the fans that he represents the rest of the team.

I am not the world's biggest hockey fan. I root for the Habs, and watch some of the playoffs, usually only when the Habs are playing. Now, all this said, I have to say that the Sens have been asolutely freaking amazing this year in the playoffs. Round 1, I figured they would choke, and that would be that, but the Sens have been busting their humps and showing just how hungry they are to bring Stanley home to Ottawa.

I have been glued to the TV during this round, watching the Sens pound the Sabres and I am absolutely impressed. I have seen Buffalo throw several cheap or dirty shots, and no calls made. I watched as Alfredsson bumped the Sabre's goalie, and dude, you have to be blind if you are calling it a cheap or dirty hit.

The ONLY real challenge that Ottawa is facing in this round is Ryan Miller. That man deserves the MVP award for his outstanding goaltending. If it wasn't for Miller, Buffalo would be horrendously mauled point-wise with way they are farting around.

Pull your head out from the sand, and give the Sens their due. They have been playing hard, and acting like a real team rather than the choke-artists of the past.

one hit does not a dirty team make. Sure, If they were running guys every game, fine, they're dirty. But in 14 playoff games, can you find more than 3 'dirty' hits. I don't think so. They are just phgysical and intense, and at the speed of today's game, borderline hits will always happen.

Also, why the hell is anybody talking about the leafs? Give me a break. They've been out for over a month... let it go.

I always thought the Sens were dirty...but that was until they got rid of some of those stick swingers and kickers they used to employ...I don;t think they are anymore..in fact guys like Fisher and Phillips play the game the way it should be played...Alfredsson is 'creepy'...if not borderline dirty..but as a team I would say the Sens are not...I guess the bigger question should be...has there ever been a playoffs with less drama than this year's and if Ottawa does win the Cup...will anyone outside of Ottawa care...or even take notice?

Lots of teams are golfing... the question is are the Sens dirty? This isn't the first hit from behind that Alfredsson hasn't seen the reply on... whatever. The league shouldlook at it, along with Pronger's, and decideif something needs to be done. It has no place in the game, regardless who's team the guy plays for.

GO SENS GO !!!!

Anybody who thinks the Sens are a dirty team are nuts! They have more talent & heart than the Leafs will EVER have! That's why they're in the finals... and the Maple Loafs are golfing!!!!!!

The real roblem is Lindy Ruff, somebody should buy him a big pacifier....Tim give him yours when you're done.......

It appeared as though Game 2 had been the Sabres' biggest game of the season and when they lost that one and got down two games to none they decided to quit.

Ales Kotalik? Quitter. Chris Drury, a co-captain? Quitter.
