Are the Jays done for the season? Thu, May 10, 2007
The initial prognosis for all-star closer B.J. Ryan was a mid-June return, at which time he'd rejoin the Toronto Blue Jays and give them a huge boost for the remaining half of the season.
But rest, as was hoped, didn't make the pain go away in his strained elbow. Instead, it kept getting worse and worse and eventually forced Ryan to undergo season-ending ligament replacement surgery.
Are the Blue Jays done for the season? Do they have any hope of making the playoffs? Have your say in our forum.
The Jays were done before the season ever started. No big names added, hense no post season

Jays are done just like Ricciardi's job.

Make Burnett the interim closer...God knows he's only good for a couple of innings so it would be perfect - just look at Atlanta making John Smoltz a closer (and he was an EFFECTIVE starter). Burnett doesn't throw complete games so why not?
