Are the Jays done for the season?
Thu, May 10, 2007

The initial prognosis for all-star closer B.J. Ryan was a mid-June return, at which time he'd rejoin the Toronto Blue Jays and give them a huge boost for the remaining half of the season.

But rest, as was hoped, didn't make the pain go away in his strained elbow. Instead, it kept getting worse and worse and eventually forced Ryan to undergo season-ending ligament replacement surgery.

Are the Blue Jays done for the season? Do they have any hope of making the playoffs? Have your say in our forum.

the Jays are 11 and a half games back in the East. They won't win the conference, and they are five back in the wild card. They won't win that either.

To say they are done or the season is rather untimely. The season is very early and lots of games to play. Let's support our team. GO JAYS GO!

When it rains... it pours! Unfortunately, is looks like a safe bet to begins concessions on this season.

If anything, the Jays have to play well enough (individually) as to ready themselves via the trade market. It looks to be the right time. Time to overhaul the roster!

Staff has to regroup, hire out, whatever it takes to get a decent crop of youngsters within the farm system. I'm not here attacking JP Ricciardi for his development overall. I think a decent job has been done with position players but not so much with pitching personel.

It actually pains me to make these suggestions, as I was among the few (I'd like to say mass but not too many support the Jays) who thought they Jays looked like a good group of contenders, which they still do IF HEALTHY.

One things for certain, if anything I've written seems to be gibberish: John Gibbons must go.

He's mismanaged too many guys into the predicament their in. Gibby it's not a video game, stop playing the numbers all the damn time. You're dealing with human's! Rant Over!!!

looks that way.. too many regulars out and now with Doc gone too.. I hate to say that this promising season is washed up but ... it is

Things are looking pretty dire; hopefully everyone keeps the faith but it does not look good. What a huge disappointment.

Fire Gibbons and Riccardi. It looks like the players gave up on the John Gibbons and Riccardi did not spend the money wisely getting a DH is a last priority so signing Thomas is a big mistake they could have spend that money on resigning Ted Lilly.
