Mats Sundin will remain with the Toronto Maple Leafs for one more season.
The Leafs captain signed a one-year contract worth US$5.5 million on Tuesday, raising questions about Sundin's future with the organization.
Was this a prudent move by the Maple Leafs? Do they move their team leader at or before the trade deadline if the club is on the outside looking in concerning the Eastern playoff standings?
Have your say in our forum.
Sundin opts for one-year deal
When it is as badly broken as this team has been for may years, please fix it!
It the entire team that needs to be evaluated and selectively overhauled!

They should trade him or keep him around for around $2-$3M/year and take the other money and get him some support. The real joke hear is Ferguson.. Total screw up.. McCabe, Kubina etc.

A slowdown in point production, increase in injury time and huge salary make Sundin expendable. Leafs need to start rebuilding and why have Sundin suffer as they do. His $'s can be put to use on signing some good young players.(That's if they can pick some winners in the draft which is very questionable) Hopefully we don't see patchwork which hasn't worked for 40 years.
Sundin is a true blue Leaf, but his time has come.
