I didn't realize the Sens were a spin-off of the Leafs but that's the way it seems by the number of posters who can only cite the fact that the Sens have done better than the Leafs this year. The Sens have done better than many teams this year, give the Leafs thing a rest if you want any respect! As for predictions on how far they'll go, we'll see what happens when the Sens play teams that aren't made up of teenagers, or teams that are actually trying, unlike New Jersey.

I think the Sens are going all the way this year!! After watching them beat the Pens in every way I can see them playing either the Ducks or Sharks in the finals. The Sens are deep with all 4 lines, have a solid d-corp and Emery is playing really well. There isnt any reason why the Sens cant go all the way this year if they stay healthy.
Go Sens Go!!!!!!!!

Whaaaa! Call the whambulance! Toronto fans are crying in their beers again. Toronto is NOT the centre of the universe and there is an NHL without Toronto. I am sick to death of the Toronto fans who have some sort of sense of entitlement. Toronto is not hockey. Toronto is not the NHL. They are not Canada's team. If they were, that would be a shame. Canada's team? Try looking outside the province of navel-gazers who think the world ends at their border. Go Sens! Go Canucks!

For their own good, I hope Ottawa fans don't get caught up in thinking too far down the road (Stanley Cup finals) yet.
Don't make any predictions, just enjoy it as it happens and I hope your team goes a long way.
Take one game at a time.

Ottawa will be playing New Jersey or the Rangers. If they play New Jersey, who would've beaten the team with the Richard trophy winner and 2 players in the top 10 scoring leaders, they could push the Devils to the limit, but I feel they couldn't beat them and lose in 6/7. As for the Rangers, who have been resting for a week will be easy prey for the Sens' snipers. Ottawa in 5.
As for the conference finals, if the Sens were to make it they would've had to play New York, meaning Buffalo played Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is the only low seed that I feel could give Buffalo a run for their money, and if Buffalo played like they did in the first round, Tampa could force them to a game 7. To which Buffalo would squeeze out a slim win. A Buffalo-Ottawa finals would be interesting and knowing how Ottawa has beaten Buffalo many times this season and the Sabres coming off a long grueling 7 game series will fall in 6.
Therefore, Ducks and Senators in the finals. Another good series-to-be but Ottawa would have spent much of their energy and sacrificed some players to injury to outplay Buffalo last series and lose to Anaheim in game 6.
Sorry Sens, my prediction looks bleak for you. IF this does happen watch out for those Leaf fans who'll bug you and say you choked again.

The Sens have been strong since the end of December and I really like the spirit they have shown. I don't know what people were thinking picking the Pens to win and I think we have a shot of making the finals. Not only are we talented offensively, have a good defence(it would be even better if Redden picks up his game), and a great goalie, we are not putting up with crap either. Bring home the Cup. GO SENS GO!!!!

Man, people say some dumb things in these forums!
The Senators look better and more prepared than ever before. It's the playoffs - anything can happen! Look at last year - the two finalists didn't even make the playoffs this year.
If the Senators play as well as they did in the first round, they can beat anybody. And as we have seen many times throughout their history, the Senators have no problem taking on and beating the best teams. Detroit, Colorado, Buffalo - it doesn't matter.
Bring on the Rangers!

For the common thinking of "at least we did better than the Leafs". Too many Sen's fans are stuck in the past. And it is this type of thinking of winning the battle rather than winning the war that will keep the Senators from ever winning the cup. With the Potential of the Senators having to face The Rangers, then the Sabres then the Wings. It is a monumnetal task I doubt they have the tools for. They might win one more round, but that's it!

If they play as well as they did last night they will go deep.
It doesn't matter though - Sens are playing and the Leafs are golfing (again!!).
For Leaf fans, the fifth decade of futility begins...

I'm thinking Stanley Cup. The Pens were, what, the third best offense in the league this year? The Sens send 'em packing in a shutout. The Sens seem to have finally figured out how to play playoff hockey. Also, you have to give credit where crdit is due: Alfie is playing every bit like the captain of a Cup contender. There's no-one left in the East who concerns me. We've beaten NJ out of the playoffs before and we won the season series from Buffalo. I state again: I'm thinking Cup. Go Sens go!
