NEW YORK (AP) - CBS fired Don Imus from his radio show Thursday, the final blow for the broadcaster who called the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos."
MSNBC had already pulled the plug on his talk show's television simulcast amid the uproar over his racial slur. Imus has apologized repeatedly for his comments.
He also has said that those who called for his firing without knowing him, his philanthropic work or what his show was about would be making an "ill-informed" choice.

No, he should not have been fired. The good he did with his charity work far outweighed the comments he made over the years which occasionally offended brainwashed, PC sheep. But hey, he said something vaguely racist. Gotta fire him, sorry cancer kids.Bah.
I'll laugh long and loud when CBS radio goes swirling down the toilet. What a gutless sycophant Les Moonves is.
As for the rest of you, get over it. They're only words. I mean, how weak are you? The most upset people seemed to be almost anyone but the Rutgers basketball team. They moved on already. So should the rest of you.

Where I do agree maybe a suspension for the first offence, but I think firing is based on a pretty over biased judgement and Don Ismus could have a strong court case for wrongful dismissal.

Let's be honest .. the only real victim in this episode is Don Imus and his reputation.
