Are the playoffs less fun without the Leafs?
Wed, April 11, 2007

It can't be good for hockey when the Leafs miss the playoffs. It can't be good for hockey when Edmonton is out and Montreal is out. These cities are the lifeblood of the game.

So, now we watch, not certain where to turn. I'm vaguely interested in Vancouver-Dallas because this is Roberto Luongo's playoff debut. Same goes for Calgary-Detroit, mostly to see if the annual Red Wings collapse is upon us.

A playoffs without Toronto won't seem very much like playoffs at all.

George - I reckon you're right, there are 50 states.

My only gripe is the "Toronto biased" attitude of the CBC and Canoe. That's all. In a national hockey show, there should be more support for all Canadian teams besides the Leafs.

I miss the Leafs like I miss having a frontal lobotomy What a pathetic bunch of losers. MLSE doesn't give a damn about winning as long as you idiots keep putting your fat butts in the seats. Simple solution, boycott the Leafs and the product will get better!!!

Where is Toronto ?

verm, 2007-04-11 16:19:12

Ummmm - Patrick - don't look now but there have been 50 states in the union for quite a few years (Hawaii and Alaska). That aside, what I'm seeing here - for the most part but not all - are the same "Go (whoever) Go" "(so-and-so) suck" and "(whoever) RULES" yabos who spend money to make the same inane comments on McCown's show. Come up with something new. Please!!!

who cares about Leafs as long as they don't change the general manager. it's time to do what Raptors did ... so for all Maple Leafs die hard fans: GO RAPTORS GO!!!

They are out! Get over it. There are three other Canadian teams in the playoffs. We should be concentrating on the ones that made it and see that Toronto is not the center of the universe. Good luck to the Sens, Flames and Canucks. Lets bring the cup back to Canada!

Man I feel like I'm watching Hockey Night in Toronto again. Just get over it.. The Maple Leafs are the NHL's Retirement community. What will Toronto and the CBC(which should be the TBC since it's so Damn biased)do without the leafs in the playoffs, again? Funny how for the rest of Canada, life goes on without a second thought. With it's self-absorbed attitude, I wouldn't be surprised to see Toronto becoming the 49th state of the USA in the near future.

Your Pal in Ottawa.

Go Sens Go!

"a playoff w/o Toronto won't seem very much like playoffs at all"? Are you kidding? It will be FANTASTIC. The CBC will have to learn about the other teams in Canada with hockey teams, I won't have to listen to the idiots in their cars honking their way up Yonge Street before every game, and all of my co-workers have to put up with my cheering for the Sens in our Toronto office. The new NHL is great - Toronto can no longer buy their way into the playoffs. Fergie has to learn how to GM a team in a salary cap world. How's he doin' so far?
Paul SensFan, 2007-04-11 15:53:12

hmm I can see why most of you are tired of hearing about this, but really this is a Toronto-based website based on the Sun. So stop whining, and go read somewhere else then because we have the right to be upset with the loss of the Leafs from the playoffs. I hope your teams that you support do well but do us all a favor and shut up
Aaron Smith, 2007-04-11 15:50:49

What a joke. You know, there are 16 other teams, all of which played much better that the Laffs this year...how about we focus on them, rather than on one of the lamest teams in the league.
