My sympathies to...

This weekend has left me feeling bad for a few individuals in sports as well as a team or two.

Allow me to share.

I feel bad for Josh Towers.

Friday night he started strong against the Texas Rangers, convincing even, and seemed on his way to a great outting -- until the third inning.

This guy can't catch a break, or is it that he can't locate?

Towers was lit up for three home runs in the third inning and that's all that the Rangers needed for a win to begin their series in Toronto.

That outting spelled the end of his opportunity to stick in the starting rotation -- he's off to the bullpen

I feel bad for the Raptors.

Things seemed a little fishy Friday when word on the street had Jason Kidd ailing, possibly to the point of not playing Game 3 of this playoff series. Who knew it would be the irony that was painful when that final buzzer went -- and Kidd finished with a career-high 19 assists in his 10th post -season triple-double?

Ouch.

I feel bad for Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.

Not one to watch the NFL draft or most any draft for that matter, I found it hard to look away from this train wreck on TV.

Quinn was expected to go in the top 10 (his agent had Cleveland taking him third overall), but instead, it seemed like an eternity of embarrassment waiting for his name to be called. Quinn was finally called by Cleveland, not third overall, but 22nd!

Still with the NFL, I do not feel bad for the New England Patriots.

If you want to take on a piece of work like Randy Moss, you make your own bed. Moss has tried his "fresh start" before with the Raiders, and this will likely not end well.

Oh the drama, how we love it...
