Much noise has been made about the cost of ice rentals in the City of Toronto, but typically most of it missed the mark. City ice is among the last bargains of youth hockey. What's expensive in minor hockey is private ice, which ranges on average from $275 an hour to $350. The $155 the city charges for prime time is a bargain when compared to the alternatives.
