The Carleton Ravens weren't going to let this one slip away.

A week removed from losing to the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees to capture the Wilson Cup, the Ravens returned the favour, defeating their cross-town rivals 79-67 to earn their 10th national title.

"It's pretty special, especially with that group of guys," said forward Tyson Hinz after the players and fans ran onto the court to celebrate.

The 6-foot-7 forward was a force all afternoon, scoring 30 points and pulling down six rebounds. In his final game with the Ravens, you couldn't have scripted it better.

"Ottawa's a good team, you've got to give them credit," he said moments after the team received their gold medals and paraded the championship trophy around the court. "That's by the far the best team I've played in my five years here."

Hinz said it was "pretty easy to be motivated" in a game against the one team to beat them this season.

"I'm happy for the guys, I'm happy for the team," he said. "Every single one of us has worked extremely hard to get to this point."
