The Sweet 16 kicked off with four games Thursday. Here’s a look at Friday’s four matchups:

VIRGINIA (1) VS. MICH. ST (4)

Every four-year player Tom Izzo’s ever had has reached the Final Four, but that streak’s on the line against a strong Cavaliers side that probably shouldn’t have been given a No. 1 seed, but is dangerous nonetheless.

Virginia has some shooters, but Adreian Payne, Gary Harris and co. aren’t slouches either. When the shots aren’t dropping, the Cavaliers have really struggled, one game, they only managed to score 38 points. This should come down to who defends better, and the Spartans finally are healthy and have been playing well.

Neither team is great on the boards, but Michigan State is better.

The other MSU stars, Branden Dawson and Keith Appling have been battling injuries, but have looked good lately.

In a battle of one team seeded too high and one too low, we’re taking the upset.
