It was just after midnight when Masai Ujiri quietly made his entrance into the media room at the Air Canada Centre a couple of floors down from the Raptors draft room.

His entrance was so quiet, in fact, that Ujiri was at the podium before most of the assembled media knew he was even on the way. That’s not how it normally works, but Thursday night was anything but normal.

We won’t pretend we know Ujiri well enough to say what he was feeling at that moment, but based on how he was looking and sounding it’s fair to say he was a far cry from the fired up guy who just weeks ago stunned Toronto and the rest of the NBA with the now infamous F%$# Brooklyn parting shot to the Raptors faithful gathered at Maple Leaf Square before Game 1 of their Eastern Conference playoff matchup.

Twitter, not that it is the be all and end all but it is a good indicator of the pulse of a like-minded segment of the population, was not a good landing spot for Ujiri on this night.
