A two-day break for the Raptors has proven to be too much down time for one of their young players.

Jonas Valanciunas, the Raptors starting centre and one of two second-year players starting for the team, was charged with driving under the influence while spending some time in Wasaga Beach.

The charge came at about 2:30 a.m. Monday morning after Valanciunas went through a drive-thru with open beer bottles in his car. The information was forwarded to police who subsequently tracked down the vehicle and, after a short investigation, charged Valanciunas with “exceeding 80 mgs.”
