TORONTO - The warts won’t be cleared amid the excitement of playoff basketball and the deficiencies can’t possibly be addressed in the coming weeks prior to the NBA’s second season.

By as early as Friday night, the Raptors can officially book their ticket to the post-season, the franchise’s first since 2008.

The franchise has never won a best-of-seven series in its history and the odds will be long this time around, no matter which matchup is created.

When there’s no proven closer, a bench that has been completely exposed in Patrick Patterson’s injury absence and lack of post scorers, the Raptors will have to summon their absolute best once the playoffs roll around.

And even then, it may not be enough to advance into the second round.

Given their resilient spirit and ability to make three-pointers, the Raptors won’t be an easy out.
