TORONTO - The playoffs are three weeks away and while the Raptors aren’t officially in them, it’s going to take a freefall of drastic proportions to keep them out.

Head coach Dwane Casey is already looking ahead to the post-season by focussing on reigning in the minutes of his most overused and, not surprisingly, most valuable players in Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan.

Casey is quick to point out his team has yet to officially qualify for the playoffs and winning games remains of utmost importance, but it’s clear that every extra minute of rest available for his two most pivotal players over the final 13 games he will do his utmost to get for them.

The players themselves will also be playing these final 13 games with an eye towards that playoff opener on either April 19th or 20th.

For the most part they’ve been preparing for these games since their off-season workouts began last summer.

But at this time of year, all the little things become magnified.
