Back spasms would keep Kyle Korver from playing Sunday, a setback that basically put the visiting Atlanta Hawks back on their heels.

Credit the Raptors for overcoming an early fourth-quarter hole, for showing resiliency, but they yielded good looks from beyond the arc and the Hawks failed to pounce of their opportunities.

With Korver — whose three last week helped the host Hawks force overtime in an eventual win over the Raptors — unavailable for the second straight game, Atlanta would lose their second straight.

He’ll space the floor, allow a lightning quick point guard such as Jeff Teague a bigger lane to the basket and Korver will make his shots, a skill that separates him from many of today’s above-the-rim athletes.

Korver’s absence also allowed the Raptors to use Terrence Ross in defending Teague down the stretch.

The Hawks, who led Toronto by 14 points one minute into the final period, are now 8-18 when held to fewer than 100 points.
