TORONTO - Before he addressed the media following Wednesday’s win over visiting Detroit, Dwane Casey, Toronto’s lame duck head coach, watched the closing minutes of Miami’s tip against Brooklyn.

Playoff basketball will soon return to Toronto and the scoreboard watching and late-game television viewing are now in full earnest.

Casey has been down this road before, even as his future in Toronto remains very much up in the air.

The coach deserves plenty of kudos for his in-game management, his ability to extract a lot from players who are flawed and for fostering an environment that is team oriented.

In time, the big picture that is the Raptors moving forward must be addressed, a topic that has no easy answers, one dotted with plenty of hard questions in a season of unusual circumstance and opportunity.
