TORONTO - Wins like Monday’s in Brooklyn are few and far between in Raptors’ history.

The day after the most improbable win of the season (given the late-game circumstances) a common refrain was “The Raptors just don’t win those games.”

And those saying it are correct.

It has been years since that type of game went Toronto’s way.

There’s a reason for that.

High basketball IQ and attention to detail had a lot to do with that win and right now the Raptors individually and collectively have plenty of both on the roster and in the organization.

Consider the two players involved in the game’s final few plays, Kyle Lowry and Patrick Patterson

Lowry thinks the game like few other players. Patrick Patterson is no slouch in that department either.

Both have been around, Lowry in his eighth season, Patterson in his fourth and with the game in the balance both made multiple decisions in a very short time frame to turn likely defeat into victory.
