TORONTO - It's been a long time since Derrick Rose came to town.

The Chicago Bulls' superstar point guard, a former NBA MVP and one of the league's transcendent talents, last suited up at the ACC back in February, 2011.

There are no guarantees, however, that Rose, who has missed the past five meetings between the teams, will be able to play when the visiting Bulls and Raptors clash for the first of four times this season on Friday.

Rose is still working his way back to 100% from the devastating knee injury that cost him the entire 2012-13 campaign, but that's not what makes his status for Friday questionable.

The Chicago native hurt his hamstring late in Monday's win over Cleveland and the team might be cautious, considering a date with rival Indiana looms the following night (and the Bulls have three games in four nights to get through).

"We're going to see where he is," Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau told Bulls.com Thursday.
