TORONTO - Given the option, we believe Dwane Casey would bottle this one and bring it back out when the games actually count.

Casey has spent the majority of this pre-season re-establishing the defensive principles that slipped on this team from his rookie season.

The buy-in has been, until last night, mostly word of mouth. Everyone was talking a good game about the need to get back to where they were in 2011-12, but in terms of actually showing it on the court, it was hit and miss.

Part of that was because there was no real flow to the first six games as Casey tried to get a feel for who on his bench he wanted in the rotation and what combinations worked best.

But with the arrival of the penultimate game of the Raptors pre-season Wednesday night, it was time to start treating the games like the true warmups they are for the regular season. That meant playing guys when they would normally play and the amount of minutes they should see once the season begins.
