Late during the pre-season NBA game on Monday night between Toronto and Boston, famed Celtics broadcaster Tom Heinsohn suggested that Raptors forward Tyler Hansbrough is the type of player you want to “punch in the mouth” when you’re facing him on the court.
Which is fair enough. Hansbrough does have the reputation of being a hard-nosed, take-no-prisoners forward, the type of player who regularly gets under the skin of the opposition — as was the case last season when he threw Raptors rookie Jonas Valanciunas to the floor, prompting a Toronto TV broadcaster to call the former North Carolina Tar Heels star “a hack.”
Well, the “hack” is now a Raptor, and Toronto head coach Dwane Casey couldn’t be happier.
