The schedule-maker was a little kinder to the Raptors this year. A little.

The team won’t have to slog through 15 of its first 22 games on the road again — a major factor in its season-defining 4-19 start — though half of the opening 22 are away games and November of 2013 won’t exactly be a cakewalk.

It will be a busy month. After opening at home on Oct. 30 against Boston and Canadian rookie Kelly Olynyk, the Raptors play 14 times in November, including seven against elite clubs Miami (twice at the ACC), Indiana, Houston, Memphis, Chicago and Brooklyn.

December will be a major challenge as well, with three games in four nights against Dallas, Oklahoma City and San Antonio, a home-and-home back-to-back against Andrea Bargnani and the New York Knicks and a New Year’s Eve clash in Chicago.

If the team can get through the early challenges and its five-game trip to open February, the travel levels off significantly.
