TORONTO - Short on specifics and long on cliches, Masai Ujiri wasn’t about to let any state secrets slip in his first official day as general manager of the Toronto Raptors.

His lack of clarity was both startling and intentional. He knows what he’s about to do as GM of the Raptors. He knows who his staff will be. He knows what he plans to do with coach Dwane Casey.

He’s just not willing to share much of anything in a public forum such as an introductory press conference. He was wishy-washy about his roster. He was ambiguous about the future of Andrea Bargnani as a Raptor, only to say that shooting bigs are a valuable asset in today’s NBA.

And this much we know: If he had been this non-specific in his interview with CEO Tim Leiweke last week, therbr>
When asked privately if Ujiri generalized this much in their day-long meeting, Leiweke was rather blunt.
