On a day that is normally rife with promises of better times ahead, neither president and GM Bryan Colangelo nor head coach Dwane Casey disappointed.

Coming off a 34-win season and a fifth consecutive year without playoffs for their Toronto Raptors, both men preferred to see the strides made and the potential for more rather than lament the missed opportunities in a season that was far more disappointing than anything.

You could hardly blame them.

As it stands now, neither is 100% sure they will even be back to take another shot at it. Who in their right mind lays out the negatives when they’re in that type of situation?

The one piece of news that actually did come out of Monday’s season breakdown with the coach and GM was the fact that Colangelo, if he is asked back for another season by the board of directors, will be bringing Casey with him.
