If it didn’t involve a man’s livelihood, it would almost be funny. But there’s nothing funny about times like these for a head coach.

His team is finding all kinds of ways to lose and the fan base is turning on him, questioning his moves, questioning his ability to put his team in the best possible position to win, questioning him.

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey talks repeatedly about the need to practice patience, to find a balance between what is right for his team now and what is right for his team down the road.

He readily admits it is no easy task looking past growing pains and biting the bullet or foregoing a potentially better move for the now in exchange for a move that will make the team better in the long haul.

And this is where it’s somewhat funny (but not really). Casey demands that of himself but gets none of that patience or balance from the fan base that is currently in full roar about his handling of his personnel.
