Raptors' disdain for west coast could continue

It’s almost fitting that the Raptors’ last gasp, if that’s what it becomes, comes on a road swing through the west.

Sure, it starts here in Milwaukee and that could decide it, but whether they play even remotely meaningful games in April will come down to the three games that the trip concludes with in Oakland against the Golden State Warriors, in Phoenix against the surprisingly streaking Suns and finally in Los Angeles against a Lakers team that may yet manage to avoid its own inclusion in the NBA lottery.

Toronto’s fate, if it wasn’t sealed by consecutive losses earlier this week to Washington, in Cleveland and to Indiana, will be determined this week in a city two time zones away from Toronto if history has anything to say about it.
