It's up to Bargnani to stop booing

The boos will continue to resonate until the Raptors find a way to better utilize Andrea Bargnani.

The jeers will go unabated until Bargnani somehow develops a tougher skin.

It’s a difficult position that suddenly involves a team whose playoff positioning isn’t as bleak as it was prior to Rudy Gay’s arrival, essentially a no-win situation involving Bargnani.

Fans in Toronto — who are among the least educated in the NBA — will never warm up to Bargnani, who looked very much at ease when he addressed the many issues that surround him on Sunday.

What does it say about a fan base when some of the loudest ovations are reserved for a free slice of pizza, not to mention what message is possibly being sent when they boo Bargnani.

To borrow that oft-used expression, Bargnani is what he is — a one-dimensional player who can nonetheless emerge as a very key piece as a reserve.

In basketball, it isn’t who starts, but rather who finishes games.
