Raptors out of sync in loss to Grizzlies

The Raptors have played grind-it-out games against Indiana and New York, tips that featured more bruises than baskets.

In each case, the Raptors found a way to win both games.

Wednesday night presented another challenge, an evening when decision making was a priority, when protecting the basketball was paramount, when stepping up and taking one’s game to another level in crunch time a must.

While the Pacers and Knicks are both headed for the post-season, neither has the mental and physical toughness that make the Memphis Grizzlies a team worth watching as the road to the NBA final is now in sight.

Despite some wretched stretches, and there were many, especially in the opening half, the evening would turn dramatic, but it would end in defeat for the Raptors, dropping a 88-82 decision to the Grizzlies.

Rudy Gay has had better nights, unable to find any rhythm against his former team, which denied him virtually everything.

Do you like the new-look Raptors heading into the 2013-14 NBA season?
Yes, new GM made great moves
No, they will still be a terrible team
Unsure what to make of it
